DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Copyright 2008, Bruce Docker
Oil based onk on Hosho paper
Edition of 25 prints
Linocut, 9 x 2 "
$25.00 each
including shipping in U.S.

This was fun figuring out an interesting
subject and composition for such
an odd shape of linoleum.
Somehow there is something more casual
and free about printmaking. I have a hard time
seeing myself making a painting like this.
Yet, I like this a lot.

A STONE IN THE RIVER OF DUST

Oil based print ink on Hosho paper - Actual print size is 5x7"
Edition of 15 prints (no proofs)
$40.00 inc. shipping

This shows the relative size of the paper compared to the print. The Hosho paper is very thick compared to the other papers I have used in the past. It is very soft and takes the ink well.

PRINT MAKING

These prints are hand pulled linocuts, woodcuts and monoprints. I have recently begun making woodcuts and linocuts with more frequency.

The first post (at the end of the blog) is a collection of all the old ones that I could find. Some were never printed as a full series and most of the original blocks have disappeared over the years.

I am now posting new small edition, hand pulled woodcuts and linocuts for sale. Compositionally there is a lot of similarity between these prints and my paintings and in some cases the subjects or the original drawings are the same.

I like that it is possible to make the most mundane scene or object so vibrant and alive with a block print.
